She died at the age of 44 on November 24th, 1290 in Herdeby, near Grantham, Lincolnshire, England.General Notes

Eleanor of Castile was Queen to Edward I. On her death Edward built
"Eleanor Crosses" at each stopping place of her funeral cortege from
Norfolk to London. Three of these crosses still remain.
