Matilda the Empress of was born in 1103 in Winchester, England.  Matilda the Empress of's father was Henry I Beauclerc of England and her mother was Matilda Edith Atheling of Scotland.  Her paternal grandparents were William I the Conqueror of England and Mathilda of Flanders; her maternal grandparents were Malcolm III Caennmor Dunkeld of Scotland and Margaret the Exile Atheling. She had two brothers and a sister, named Richard of, William the Aetheling of and Euphamia of. She had nine half-brothers and fifteen half-sisters, named Robert, Robert the Consul de Meullent, William, Gilbert of, Reginald de Dunstanville, Fulk of, Richard of, Henry FitzHenry of, Robert of, Sybillia Corbet of, Rohese FitzRoy of, Alice (Aline) of, Eustacie of, Joan of, Mathilda of, Constance of, Daughter Beauclerc of, Daughter of, Elizabeth FitzHenry of, Emma of, Juliane of, Maud FitzEdith of, Isabel of and Maud of.  She died at the age of 64 on September 10th, 1167 in Abbey of Notre Dame des Pres, Rouen, France.  She was buried on September 13th, 1167 in Rouen Cathedral, Rouen or Abbey at Bec, Eure, France.

‌Matilda the Empress of and Geoffrey V the Fair Plantagenet of were married in a religious ceremony on May 22nd, 1128 in Le Mans Cathedral, Anjou, France.  They had three sons and a daughter, named Henry II Curtmantle FitzEmpress of, Geoffrey VI Plantagenet of, William Plantagenet of and Emma.
