Isabella de Taillefer of was born in 1189 in Angouleme,Chrnt, France.1   Isabella de Taillefer of's father was Aymer Taillefer de Valence of Angouleme and her mother was Alice de Courtenay.  Her paternal grandfather was William IV Taillefer of Angouleme and her paternal grandmother is Marguerite de Turenne; her maternal grandparents were Pierre I (Peter) Capet de Courtnay of France and Isabelle (Elizabeth) de Courtenay.  She was an only child.  She died at the age of 57 on May 31st, 1246 in Fontevraud Abbey, Maine-et-Loire, Anjou, France.  She was buried in 1256 in Fontevraud Abbey, Maine-et-Loire,  Anjou, France.


Isabella de Taillefer of's first family with John I Plantagenet Lackland of England

‌Isabella de Taillefer of and John I Plantagenet Lackland of were married in a religious ceremony on August 24th, 1200 in Bordeaux Cathedral, Gironde, Bordeaux, France.  They had two sons and three daughters, named Henry III Plantagenet of, Richard of, Joan (Gwenllian) Plantagenet of, Isabella (Elizabeth) of and Eleanor (Nell) Plantagenet of.
