Pierre I (Peter) Capet de Courtnay of was born in Montargis, France.  Pierre I (Peter) Capet de Courtnay of's father was Louis VI the Fat Capet of France and his mother was Adelaide de Maurienne of Savoy.  His paternal grandparents were Philip I the Fair Capet of France and Bertha von Westfriesland of Holland; his maternal grandparents were Humbert II the Fat de Maurienne of Savoy and Gisele of Burgundy. He had three brothers and a sister, named Louis VII Capet the Younger of, Robert de Dreux Capet of, Henry Capet of and Constance Capet of.  He died on April 10th, 1183 in Palestine.
