Etiennette was born about 1035.  Etiennette's father was Adalbert III de Longwy and her mother is Clemence de Foix de Carcassonne.  Her paternal grandparents were Adalbert II of Metz and UNKNOWN Jutta; her maternal grandparents were Bernardo Roger de Foix and Gersenda de Bigorre. She had a sister named Ermesinde.  She was the younger of the two children.  She died after 1088.

‌Etiennette and William I the Great of were married in a religious ceremony.  They had eight sons and six daughters, named Eudes, William, Rainald II, Ivrea of, Hugues of, Guido of, Etienne I (Stephen) de Macon of, Raymond of, Etienette of, Sibylle (Mathilda) of, Bertha of, Clemence de Ivrea of, Ermentrude of and Gisele of.
