William I the Great of was born about 1024.  William I the Great of's father was Renaud I Palatine de Macon of Burgundy and his mother was Judith (Alix) of Normandy.  His paternal grandparents were Otton I (Otto William) of Lombardy and Ermentrude de Roucy; his maternal grandparents were Richard II The Good of Normandy and Judith of Rennes Brittany. He had two brothers and a sister, named Guido, Hugues and Alberada. He had a half-sister named Judith (Fausta) of.  He died on November 12th, 1087.
