Mathilda (Mechtilde) of was born in 0892 in Memleben, Saxony, Germany.  Mathilda (Mechtilde) of's father was Dietrich (Theoderich) of Ringelheim and her mother was Reginhilde von Friesland.  Her paternal grandparents are Immed von Sachsen and Mathilda von Dreini; her maternal grandfather was Godefrid (Godefroy la Danois) Haraldsson and her maternal grandmother is Gisela de Lorraine von Lothringen. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Siegfried of, Lambert of, Amaldra of and Frederunda of.  She was the oldest of the five children.  She died in Memleben,Sachsen.
