Etienne I (Stephen) de Macon of was born about 1060.  Etienne I (Stephen) de Macon of's father was William I the Great of Burgundy and his mother was Etiennette de Longwy.  His paternal grandparents were Renaud I Palatine de Macon of Burgundy and Judith (Alix) of Normandy; his maternal grandfather was Adalbert III de Longwy and his maternal grandmother is Clemence de Foix de Carcassonne. He had seven brothers and six sisters, named Eudes, William, Rainald II, Ivrea of, Hugues of, Guido of, Raymond of, Etienette of, Sibylle (Mathilda) of, Bertha of, Clemence de Ivrea of, Ermentrude of and Gisele of.  He died on May 27th, 1102 in Askaoln.
