William Mather

William was born in January 1800 in Deane and his baptism took place on January 26th, 1800 at St. Mary (Deane).¹

William's father was John Mather and his mother was Betty Edge. He had five brothers and six sisters, named John, James, Thomas, Richard, Wright, Elizabeth, Alice, Jane, Margaret, Mary and Charlotte. He was the tenth oldest of the twelve children. He died at the age of 59 in April 1859 in Bolton. His burial was on April 24th, 1859 at St. Mary (Deane).²

- WARNING - May have the wrong marriage as Catherine Pikiington in 1816 is also a good fit. This was a double wedding of William and Richard, possible brothers.

  In 1851, William and Betty (50 & 47) were at Cannon Street, Western Bolton with Thomas (30), John (25), Susannah (20), James (17), William (6), Elizabeth (2) and their niece Sarah Chadwick (22).
