Richard is probably the son of John and Betty Mather from Deane (since he lived in Bolton West and married Betty from Anderton).
In 1841, Richard and Betty Mather (45 & 55) a weaver, were living in Bengal Square, Bolton. With them were Mary (22), Jane (18), and Wright (15).
In 1851, Richard and Betty (55 & 33) were at 35 Bengall Square. Betty was from Anderton. Elizabeth Lee (Granddaughter) was with them (and her parents John and Mary Lee at 28 Bengall Square).
Richard (76) was logding with his daughter Jane Barker in 1871.
