General Notes
From 1804 till 1818, James was a Private in Coldstream Regt of Foot Guards, Waterloo. He was discharged 14 Dec 1818, aged 32, with "good conduct". He was about 5'6", brown hair, hazel eyes and a dark complexion. He was a weaver.
In 1841, Alice and James (both listed as 55 although Alice is before James as older) were with their mother Betty (82) on Cannon Street, Bolton.
In 1851, James Mather (60) and his sister Alice Jones (62) and brother Wright Mather (50) were still living on Cannon Street, W Bolton.
