Wright was born in 1836 in Deane and his baptism took place on September 4th, 1836 at St. Mary (Deane).1  Wright's father was William Mather and his mother was Elizabeth (Betty) Farrand.  His paternal grandparents were John Mather and Betty Edge. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Thomas, John, James, Wright, William, Susannah, Ellen and Elizabeth.  He was the fifth oldest of the nine children.  He died at the age of 5 in February 1841 in Bolton.  He was buried on February 24th, 1841 at St. Peter's (Bolton).2
