Maud was born in England.  Maud's father was King Henry ("Beauclerc", "Fine Scholar") Plantagenet I of England and her mother is daughter.  Her paternal grandparents were King William ("the Conqueror") I of England and Matilda of Flanders. She had a sister named Constance Matilda. She had five half-brothers and nine half-sisters, named "the King's Son", Rainald, William, Henry FitzHenry, Haldane, Lady of the English, "The Empress", Alix, Joan Elizabeth, Eustacia, Emme, Sibyl Elizabeth, Annora and Mathilde.  She died  due to Drowned In Wreck Of The White Ship Along With Prince William.

‌Maud and "le Grosse" were married in a religious ceremony in March 1113.  They had two daughters named Constance and Bertha.
