Rainald was born in Dunstanville, Kent, England.  Rainald's father was King Henry ("Beauclerc", "Fine Scholar") Plantagenet I of England and his mother was Sibyl Corbet.  His paternal grandparents were King William ("the Conqueror") I of England and Matilda of Flanders; his maternal grandfather was Lord Robert FitzCorbet of Alcester, Warwickshire. He had three sisters named Eustacia, Emme and Sibyl Elizabeth. He had four half-brothers and eight half-sisters, named "the King's Son", William, Henry FitzHenry, Haldane, Lady of the English, "The Empress", Constance Matilda, Alix, Joan Elizabeth, Maud, Annora and Mathilde.  He died on July 1st, 1175 in Chertsey, Surrey, England.  He was buried in Abbey, Reading, Berkshire, England.

‌Rainald and Beatrice were married in a religious ceremony about 1135 in Cornwall, England.  They had three daughters named Joan, Maud and Beatrice.
