Eustacia was born about 1085 in Normandy, France.  Eustacia's father was King Henry ("Beauclerc", "Fine Scholar") Plantagenet I of England and her mother was Sibyl Corbet.  Her paternal grandparents were King William ("the Conqueror") I of England and Matilda of Flanders; her maternal grandfather was Lord Robert FitzCorbet of Alcester, Warwickshire. She had a brother and two sisters, named Rainald, Emme and Sibyl Elizabeth. She had four half-brothers and eight half-sisters, named "the King's Son", William, Henry FitzHenry, Haldane, Lady of the English, "The Empress", Constance Matilda, Alix, Joan Elizabeth, Maud, Annora and Mathilde.
