Eleanor was born about 1394 in Durham, England.  Eleanor's father was Earl Ralph de Neville of Westmoreland and her mother was Joan de Beaufort.  Her paternal grandparents were John de Neville and Maud de Percy; her maternal grandparents were King John Plantagenet and Catharine Swynford Roet. She had a brother and a sister, named Richard and Cecily.  She was the oldest of the three children. She had a half-sister named Phillippa.  She died in 1472 in England.

‌Eleanor and Henry were married in a religious ceremony about October 1414 in Alnwick, Northumberland, England.  They had a daughter named Catherine.
