Maud was born about 1276 in Gloucestershire, England.  Maud's father was Thomas de Clare and her mother was Juliane FitzGerald.  Her paternal grandparents were Earl Richard de Clare IV of Gloucester and Maud de Lacy; her maternal grandparents were Maurice FitzMaurice FitzGerald II and Emeline de Longspee. She had two sisters named Maud and Margaret.  She died on February 1st, 1327.

‌Maud and Robert were married in a religious ceremony on November 3rd, 1295 in Clifford Castle, Herefordshire, England.  They had two sons and a daughter, named Robert, Roger and Idonea.
