Amicia was born in 1160 in Tewksbury, Gloucester, England.  Amicia's father was Earl William ("Mafonache") FitzRobert of Gloucester & Chester and her mother was Hawise ("de Beaumont") de Beaumont of Leicester.  Her paternal grandparents were Earl Robert de Mellent ("the King's Son") de Caen of Gloucester and Mabel FitzRobert; her maternal grandfather was Robert ("Bossu") de Beaumont and her maternal grandmother is Amice de Gael. She had a brother named Robert FitzWilliam. She had a half-sister named Mabel.


Amicia's first family with Richard de Clare III

‌Amicia and Richard were married in a religious ceremony before 1182.  They had a son and two daughters, named Gilbert, Maud and Maud.


Amicia's second family with Lord John le Strange II of Knockyn

‌Amicia and John were married in a religious ceremony about 1193 in Cheswardine, Shropshire, England.  They had a son named John.
