Nathaniel Mather

Nathaniel was born in December 1839 in Middleton and his baptism took place on April 2nd, 1854 at St. Leonard (Middleton).¹²

Nathaniel's father was Nathaniel (Nathan) Mather and his mother was Alice Brooks. His paternal grandparents were Richard Mather and Hannah Knowles. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Peter, William, John, Joseph, Hannah, Nancy and Alice. He was the sixth oldest of the eight children. He had a half-brother named John. He died at the age of 79 in January 1919 in Rhodes (nr. Middleton). His burial was on April 2nd, 1910 in Rhodes (nr. Middleton).³⁴
