John was born about 1745 in Turton. He died after 1799 in Haslingden. He was buried at St. Anne (Turton).Death Notes
There are several John Knowls in Turton.
John Knowles of Turton Yeoman was buried 12 March 1788.
This could well be him as he was recorded as a Yeoman when son James died in 1791. However, the Haslingden births and no other marriage suggest he lived on till past 1799.
General Notes
1768-1772 John was in Bolton/Turton when married, and had James and Sally baptised.
1780-1786, the Abode was Horwich (for Hannah) and Blackrod (1784 for Samuel), then Howich again for Rachel (1786). Baptisms were at Horwich Lee (independant).
, and died, but at Horwich when 1780-86 when Samuel, Hannah and Rachel baptised.
