John Knowles

John's father was Benjamin Knowles and his mother was Christian Entwistle.  His paternal grandparents were James Knowles and Agnes Bertwistle. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Benjamin, William, Hannah, Mary, Elizabeth and Jane.  He was the third oldest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 54 in May 1801 in Turton.  He was buried on May 15th, 1801 at St. Anne (Turton).
