- Richard and Hannah Mather and family were living at Raikes (farm) in the early 1800s. “Harwood” was shown as the abode on Ann’s baptism (1811), and “Rakes, Harwood” on Richards (1815) and John’s (1816). Then simply “Harwood” again for Henry (1819), James (1821) and Peter (1823). Also, son Nathaniel’s wife Nancy Bromiley died in Dec 1822 and is buried here and first three children born at Harwood (or Harwood Lee on Hannah’s 1851 census, born 1830). The family had moved by 1841.
