Richard was a Baptist. He was married by John Lutener (a Baptist Minister).
Richard, like his father, is a weaver, but a labourer in 1846 when Henry married Sarah.
Richard and Hannah were living at Raikes (Rakes), Harwood from 1811 to probably 1830 when Ann and sons Richard and John were baptised. The 1851 census shows that Richard's first son Nathaniel's daughter Hannah (i.e. his grandaughter) was born at Harwood Lee in 1830.
In 1836, John Howarth, John Haslam and William Knowles are registered (Poll Book) at Raikes.
In 1841, Mary Heaton (60) and George Holt (20) were at "Raikes" (a farm on the Tottington Road). This is the same place! Richard (60, Ag Lab) was at Dandy Row with sons John (20), James (15) and (possibly adopted son) Thomas (18 or 12 or 8). Hannah had died in 1839.
In Aug 1844, Solomon Mather, Richard's brother died at Old Ellen's (aka Old Nells). The informant was Richard Mather, Occupier present at the death at Old Ellen's, Sharples..
Richard travelled to the US with his son John in 1848, and died there in 1851.

Richard and Hannah Mather and family were living at Raikes (farm) in the early 1800s. “Harwood” was shown as the abode on Ann’s baptism (1811), and “Rakes, Harwood” on Richards (1815) and John’s (1816). Then simply “Harwood” again for Henry (1819), James (1821) and Peter (1823). Also, son Nathaniel’s wife Nancy Bromiley died in Dec 1822 and is buried here and first three children born at Harwood (or Harwood Lee on Hannah’s 1851 census, born 1830). The family had moved by 1841.

Richard and Hannah were married in a religious ceremony on January 8th, 1800 at St. Peter's (Bolton) by minister John Lutener (Baptist Minister) and witnessed by John Kershaw & William Orrell.2

Minister John Lutener married this couple and the other coulpe, William Sharples and Dolly Kershaw, who were married this day. The four may have been close friends as Dolly was witness to Richard and Hannah (before she then married).

William was 30 when he sailed to NY in 1840, so born about 1810
In the 1850 US Census, William is 42, so born about 1808 and has wife Ellen with him, aged 38. He was 47 when he died, so born late 1808 (about Sept).
There are several facts that show that William is of this family:
1) His first daughter Catherine is buried at Walmsley Chapel. If William was baptised here, then his records were lost (as all the records were lost 1800-1812).
2) Walmsley baptism records are lost between 1795 and 1815, Richard (his father) is on the 1841 census, ages 60, but the oldest child is then John, aged 18. There must be others on these lost records!
3) Father Richard and brother John came to live in the US and join William and his wife.
4) From US records we know William was born about 1808, and also we know he married Ellen at St Peter Bolton, and of Bolton Parish.Death Notes
William Mather (1807-1856) settled in Baltimore County, Maryland and went to work in a cotton mill.
He died at The Village of Cross Keys, Baltimore County, Maryland.
An obituary (with the wrong name) reads:
In Baltimore County, on the 10th instant WILLIAM MATTHEWES, aged 47 years. His friends and acquaintances are requested to attend his funeral from his late residence, Cross Keys Tavern, 4 miles on the Falls Road, this (Monday) afternoon at 2 o'clock, without further notice.Birth Notes

Later baptisms for Richard and John show the abode as Rakes, Harwood. However, in 1851, James Booth is shown from Harweed Lee, but Ann from Sharples.
