Ann was born in 1775 in Turton and her baptism took place on October 15th, 1775 at Walmsley Presbyterian conducted by minister John Aspinal.1  Ann's father was Richard Mather and her mother was Ann Howarth.  Her paternal grandparents were John Mather and Ellen Blinstone; her maternal grandparents were Edmund Howarth and Anne. She had four brothers and four sisters, named Isaac, James, Solomon, Richard, Susanna, Susan, Nancy and Alice.  She was the seventh oldest of the nine children.  She died at the age of 54 in March 1829 in Harwood.  Her burial was on March 29th, 1829 at St. Peter's (Bolton).2
