Betty Mather

Betty was born in 1797 in Breightmet and her baptism took place on July 23rd, 1797 at St. Peter's (Bolton).¹²

  Betty dau of John & Ann Mather of D.L.

Betty's father was John Mather and her mother was Ann Brabin. Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Mather and Betty Thornley. She had three brothers and nine sisters, named James, Thomas, Martha, Alice, Hannah, Mary, Sarah, Margaret, Mary, Ellen, Mary and Jane. She died at the age of 74 in December 1871 in Breightmet. Her burial was on December 27th, 1871 at Christ Church, Ainsworth.³⁴

- Betty was born in Darcy Lever and lived her adult life at Ashes in Breightmet.
  
  WARNING - Another Betty (Crompton) wife of James Lomax of Great Bolton 34 years, was buried 25 Jul 1841. It cant be this Betty as she gave birth in 1845 to Mary Ann. This death was registered in Western Bolton, aged 39.
