Mary's father was John Mather and her mother was Ann Brabin.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Mather and Betty Thornley. She had three brothers and nine sisters, named James, Thomas, Martha, Betty, Alice, Hannah, Mary, Sarah, Margaret, Mary, Ellen and Jane.  She died at 10 months old in March 1814 in Breightmet.  She was buried on March 23rd, 1814 at St. Peter's (Bolton).
