Ann was born on September 16th, 1811 in Harwood and her baptism took place on November 20th, 1811 at Cockey Moor Discenting Chapel conducted by Joseph Bealey.¹²

  Ann was baptised at Ainsworth Presbyterian. This appears to be the only baptism here for a son of Richard.

  791. Ann, Daughter of Richard Mathers & Hannah his wife (where Maiden name was Knowles) of Harwood, in the Parish of Bolton, Lancashire (born Sep'r 16th 1811) was baptised Nov 21st 1811 by me Joseph Bealey.
  
  Later baptisms for Richard and John show the abode as Rakes, Harwood. However, in 1851, James Booth is shown from Harweed Lee, but Ann from Sharples.

Ann's father was Richard Mather and her mother was Hannah Knowles. Her paternal grandparents were Richard Mather and Ann Howarth; her maternal grandparents were John Knowles and Jane Thomason. She had eight brothers and two sisters, named Nathan, William, Robert, Richard, John, Henry, James, Peter, Rachel and Catherine. She had an adopted brother named Thomas. She died whilst giving birth at the age of 40 on August 20th, 1852 in Little Bolton. Her burial was on August 24th, 1852 at Christ Church, Walmsley.³⁴

General Notes
- Ann married James Booth 16-Mar-1832. The births of Luke and Betty show MMN as Mather, so this marriage appears correct.
  
  NOTE: This may be another Ann Mather (e.g. Ann b.1804, daughter of Charles and Alice). George Dunn also married an Ann Mather on 11-Apr-1833. There are no Records for an Ann and George Dunn in Bolton. There is also a well defined and unrelated Jonathan Booth and Eliza Mather family from Little Bolton.
  
  Ann Booth was a Widow, 30 in 1841, 40 (or 46) in 1851, 50 in 1861 with daughter Jane Booth (8,18,28) living in East Bolton, so this could be her. Ann Booth (mothers Maiden Name Mather) was born in 1838 in East Bolton, but there is no death before 1842.
