William was born in June 1852 in Little Bolton.¹

Birth Notes

William's father was James Booth and his mother was Ann Mather. His paternal grandparents were Luke Booth and Esther Hamer; his maternal grandparents were Richard Mather and Hannah Knowles. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Luke, Luke, Esther, Betty, Margaret and Mary. He was the youngest of the seven children. He died at the age of 5 in March 1858 in Little Bolton.¹
