There is a Jane Hudson baptism at Kendal 13 Apr 1794, daughter of Wm Hudson (see below). Although Jane (not Jenny) the abobe baptism is more likely as matches Crooklands. This Jane has a sister Isabella and were from Lowther (much further North).

Jane's father was Henry Hudson and her mother was Jane Grimshaw. Her maternal grandparents were John Grimshaw and Sarah Sill. She was an only child. She died due to heart disease, Diease of the Heart (many years) and Anasarca (12 months), at the age of 64 on April 13th, 1860 in Bingley. She was buried on May 3rd, 1860 at All Saints (Bingley).34

In 1815, Jane Married William Smith, a farmer from Allerton.
In 1822, 1826 and 1829, Jane had Henry, Edwin and Jane baptised at Bingley. In 1822, Jane was at Allerton with her husband William a farmer. After he died, she moved to Sand Beds (possibly the Inn) at Morton.
In 1839, Jane Smith (44) and Benjamin Seed (42) a farmer and widower from Carr House, North Bierley are married at Bingley.
1841: Jane aged 45, at Sand Beds (single dwelling), Innkeeper, probably at the Airedale Heifer Inn (not on census) on the Keighley (now Bradford) Road. Her three youndest children, William (20, servant), Henry (13, servant) and Jane (11). There was also Hannah Robinson (15, servant)

He died by commiting suicide, Poisened by swallowing 6d worth of vermin killer, at the age of 44 on February 20th, 1867 in Crossflatts. He was buried on February 24th, 1867 at All Saints (Bingley).86

Henry was 44, a labourer when he died. The death record shows Henry Smith died in Morton. East Morton is less than half a mile from Crossflatts, so is probably where he was working as a farm labourer. Cause of death was "Poisoned by swallowing a quantity of Wilkinson's vermin killer - died in half an hour". The information was received from Thomas Brown, Coroner for Yorkshire, Skipton. An inquest was quickly held on 22-Feb-1867 and the death registered the following day.
