Ann was born on November 14th, 1815 in Allerton and her baptism took place on June 5th, 1816 in Bingley conducted by Curate C Wharton.1  Ann's father was William Smith and her mother was Jenny (Jane) Hudson.  Her paternal grandparents were Isaac Smith and Elizabeth Skirrow; her maternal grandparents were Henry Hudson and Jane Grimshaw. She had two brothers and a sister, named William, Henry and Mary.  She was the oldest of the four children. She had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Edwin and Jane.  She died at the age of 78 in September 1894 in Warfedale.  She was buried on September 11th, 1894 in Ilkley.2 3

‌Ann and David were married in a religious ceremony on July 29th, 1834 at All Saints (Bingley) by Curate William Cartman and witnessed by Thomas Beanlands & Mary Smith.4  They had seven sons and five daughters, named Henry, Richard, Thomas, Richard, William, Joseph, George, Ann, Harriet, Annie, Margaret and Mary.  There are no more children.  Richard and William were twins.
