William was born in September 1783 in Allerton and his baptism took place on November 2nd, 1783 in Bingley conducted by Reverend Mr Lillie.1 2  William's father was Isaac Smith and his mother was Elizabeth Skirrow.  His paternal grandparents were William Smith and Mary Wilkinson; his maternal grandparents were Holdroyd (Oldroyd) Skirrow and Ann Jennings. He had a brother and a sister, named John and Mary.  He was the youngest of the three children.  He died at the age of 38 in February 1822 in Allerton.  He was buried on February 8th, 1822 in Bingley.3 4

‌William and Jane were married in a religious ceremony on August 10th, 1815 at St. Peter (Bradford Cathederal) by Vicar John Cross and witnessed by John Barker & David Barker.1  They had two sons and two daughters, named William, Henry, Ann and Mary.  There are no more children.
