John Smith

John was born on February 3rd, 1779 in Cottingley and his baptism took place on March 8th, 1779 at All Saints (Bingley).¹

John's father was Isaac Smith and his mother was Elizabeth Skirrow. His paternal grandparents were William Smith and Mary Wilkinson; his maternal grandparents were Holdroyd (Oldroyd) Skirrow and Ann Jennings. He had a brother and a sister, named William and Mary. He was the oldest of the three children. He died at the age of 30 in March 1809 in Cottingley. His burial was on March 15th, 1809 at All Saints (Bingley).¹

Death Notes
- Isaac left his estate to his three grandchildren John, William and Thomas, and the remainder to his son William. There is no mention of John who most likely died before Isaac (ie before 1813).
  
  William also referes to the three nephews, sons of his late brother John so definately died before 1821
