Edith, known as Boodie, was born on November 28th, 1902 in Birkenhead.1  Boodie's father was Ephraim (Eph) Hopwood and her mother was Ann (Nell) Ellen Mather.  Her paternal grandparents were John Hopwood and Mary Howell; her maternal grandparents were Joseph (Joe) Mather and Ellen Tomlinson. She had a sister named Flo.  She was the older of the two children. She had a half-brother named Willie.  She died at the age of 92 in December 1994 in Parkgate.2

‌Boodie and Norman were married in a religious ceremony on August 9th, 1930 at St. Peter (Rock Ferry).4  They had a son and a daughter, named George and Annabelle.  There are no more children.
