    • Richard Kenneth Brereton in his Army uniform aged 19, already a 2-stripe lieutenant.
Richard, known as Ken, was born on December 24th, 1920 in Tranmere.1  Ken's father was Richard Timmis Brereton and his mother was Margaret (Maggie) Jane Fisher.  His paternal grandparents were Richard Brereton and Lydia Timmis; his maternal grandparents were John Fisher and Ann Elliott. He had a brother and a sister, named Arnold and Margaret.  He was the oldest of the three children.  He died due to a medical problem, Kidney Failure, at the age of 30 on October 25th, 1951 in Nigeria.2
