Bouchard was born in 1130 in Montmorency, Seine-et-Oise, France .  Bouchard's father was Constable Mattheus de Montmorency of France and his mother was Princess Alix Plantagenet of England.  His paternal grandparents were Seigneur Bouchard III of Montmorency and Agnes de Beaumont; his maternal grandparents were King Henry ("Beauclerc", "Fine Scholar") Plantagenet I of England and Isabel de Beaumont.  He was an only child.  He died in Val de Ruel, Normandie, France.  He was buried in Abbaye du Val, Val de Ruel, Normandie, France.


Bouchard's family with Laurette de Hainault

‌Bouchard and Laurette were married in a religious ceremony.  They had a son and a daughter, named "le Grand" and Alix.
