Joan, known as "Fair Maid of Kent", was born on September 29th, 1328 in Woodstock, Kent, England.  "Fair Maid of Kent"'s father was Prince Edmund ("of Woodstock") of England and her mother was Margaret Wake.  Her paternal grandparents were King Edward ("Longshanks") Plantagenet I of England and Princess Marguerite of France; her maternal grandparents were John Wake and Joan FitzBernard.  She was an only child.  She died  due to natural causes at the age of 56 on August 7th, 1385 in Wallingford Castle, Wallingford, Berkshire, England.  She was buried in Grey Friars Church, Stamford, Lincolnshire, England.


"Fair Maid of Kent"'s family with Thomas de Holand

‌"Fair Maid of Kent" and Thomas were married in a religious ceremony in 1346.  They had two sons and a daughter, named Thomas, John and Margaret.
