Living at 135 Derby Street, Bolton in 1881 with family and adopted son Henry Griffiths. 1826 - 1889 Ellen Atherton 63 63 Born: Bolton, Lancashire.

Ellen's father was James Atherton, a Weaver of Great Bolton 1850 - 1915 Mary Alice Atherton Tomlinson 65 65 In 1911, Mary Alice Holland (61, Wid) was with her daughter Gertrude (21) at 58 Victory Street, Bolton.

Mary Alice Tomlinson Atherton was illegitimate (see marriage) 1847 - 1917 William Atherton Tomlinson 70 70 Born: Bolton. Lancashire (4 years before parents were married).  Other siblings (Mary) was illegitimate and (Henry Griffiths) was adopted.  It seems likely therefore, William was also illegitimate.

Still a Clogger, (aged 53) and with second wife Elizabeth (aged 56) and 5 boarders at 26 Shaw St., Bolton in 1901. 1860 Henry Griffiths Henry was recorded as Thomas's nephew in 1861, but as his adopted son in 1871 and 1881.

Living at 135 Derby St., Bolton in 1881 with Tomlinson family. 1850 - 1874 Harrietta (Harriet) Shepherd 24 24 Harrietta on marriage record.  Harrietta's mother was also Harriet Shapherd who married Robert Dawson in 1852 (so she was born illigitimate).

Died 1874. Name recorded as Harriet Atherton Tomlinson, so no doubt of this record of death. Hannah appears to have died giving birth to Hannah Atherton Tomlinson 1870 - 1914 Mary (Polly) Alice Atherton Tomlinson 44 44 Living at 135 Derby St, Great Bolton in 1881 (aged 10)

Living at 135 Derby St, Great Bolton in 1881 (aged 8) 1856 - 1914 Elizabeth Ann Buckley 58 58 FreeBMD.org has William's marriage for Eliza Kate Lloyd to William Atherton Tomlinson in Sep-1887.  However, this is worng (the index is incomplete).  According to LancashireBMD.org.uk, Eliza K actually married John J Cowans and William Atherton Tomlinson married Elizabeth Counsell.

Elizabeth Councill (1881) or Coucill (1891).  Maiden name may be Elizabeth Ann Buckley, who married William Coucill (b.1846) in Sep-1876, and later died Jun-1879.  If this is the case, then William already had the two children when he married Elizabeth.

Elizabeth was widowed by 1881 (aged 37) and living as a lodger with her 2 children at 70 Bull Lane, Bolton.
