Peter's father was Richard Tomlinson and his mother was Sarah Bradley. His paternal grandparents were Richard Tomlinson and Ann Bolton. He had two half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Richard, Thomas, Alice, Ann and Ellen. He died at the age of 50 on April 12th, 1917 in Deane. His burial was on April 16th, 1917 at the Heaton Cemetery.³³
