Samuel was born in July 1848 in Rumworth and his baptism took place on September 3rd, 1848 at St. Mary (Deane).1 2  Samuel's father was Samuel Hibbert and his mother was Martha Smith. He had two brothers and a sister, named James, Thomas and Ellen.  He was the youngest of the four known children.  He died at the age of 7 in August 1855 in Rumworth.  He was buried on August 28th, 1855 at St. Mary (Deane).3
