Catherine's father was Albert Pendlebury and her mother was Catherine Dowd. Her paternal grandparents were James Pendlebury and Eliza Mather. She had four brothers and three sisters, named James, James, Frank, Arthur, Mary, Ellen and Lucy. She was the fourth oldest of the eight children. She had five half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Frank, Albert, Alexander, Robert, William, Elizabeth and Edna.

- 12 Jun 1915, Catherine Pendlebury (aged 22), daughter of Albert an Overlooker in Mill, married Harold Vickers (26) a musician at Albert Place United Methodist Church, Bolton. They lived at 256 Chorley Old Road and had a daughter Catherine (married Jack Smith).
