Sophia Mather

Sophia was born on March 25th, 1829 in Entwistle and her christening took place on May 31st, 1829 at Edgworth Independent.¹²

Sophia's father was Joseph Mather and her mother was Betty (Elizabeth) Cooper. Her paternal grandparents were Isaac Mather and Alice Fielding. She had five brothers and five sisters, named Charles, Andrew, John, Joseph, James, Elizabeth, Frances, Alice, Jane and Sarah. She was the third oldest of the eleven children. She died at the age of 67 on June 23rd, 1896 in Bolton.³
