Richard Mather

Richard was born on May 31st, 1803 in Walmersley and his baptism took place on June 12th, 1803 at St. Mary-the-Virgin (Bury).¹

Richard's father was Robert Madther and his mother was Judith (Judy) Chadwick. His paternal grandparents were Robert Madther and Betty (Elizabeth) Ripson. He had three brothers and five sisters, named Samuel, Francis, Robert, Patience, Leah, Sally, Leah and Lucy. He was the sixth oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 70 in September 1873 in Edgworth.²
