Sally Mather

Sally was born on August 14th, 1798 in Walmersley and her baptism took place on September 2nd, 1798 at St. Mary-the-Virgin (Bury).¹

  Walmersley is North Bury, just 2 miles North of the center of Bury. Francis's death record of 1810 also shows "Walm'y", so this is where the family probably lived.

Sally's father was Robert Madther and her mother was Judith (Judy) Chadwick. Her paternal grandparents were Robert Madther and Betty (Elizabeth) Ripson. She had four brothers and four sisters, named Samuel, Francis, Richard, Robert, Patience, Leah, Leah and Lucy. She was the fourth oldest of the nine children.
