Andrew Mather

Andrew was born on April 24th, 1825 in Edgworth and his baptism took place on January 1st, 1826 at Edgworth Independent.¹

Andrew's father was James Mather and his mother was Rachel Hamer. His paternal grandparents were Isaac Mather and Alice Fielding; his maternal grandparents were John Hamer and Mary (Mally) Bury. He had five brothers and five sisters, named James, John, Charles, Isaac, Andrew, Ann, Nancy, Jane, Sarah and Maria. He was the tenth oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 34 in October 1859 in Preston.²
