James Mather

James was born in December 1845 in Edgworth and his baptism took place on January 28th, 1846 at St. Anne (Turton).¹

Birth Notes

James' father was Andrew Mather and his mother was Elizabeth (Isabella) Holden. His paternal grandparents were James Mather and Rachel Hamer. He had five brothers and two sisters, named John, Jonathan, William, James, Andrew, Ann and Alice. He was the oldest of the eight children. He had a half-brother named Isaac. He died at the age of 1 in 1846 in Entwistle.¹
