John Mather

John was born in March 1847 in Entwistle.¹

John's father was Andrew Mather and his mother was Elizabeth (Isabella) Holden. His paternal grandparents were James Mather and Rachel Hamer. He had five brothers and two sisters, named James, Jonathan, William, James, Andrew, Ann and Alice. He was the second oldest of the eight children. He had a half-brother named Isaac. He died at the age of 88 on December 10th, 1935 in Edgworth.²
