Maria Mather

Maria was born on September 17th, 1829 in Entwistle and her baptism took place on September 27th, 1829 at Edgworth Independent.¹²

Maria's father was James Mather and her mother was Rachel Hamer. Her paternal grandparents were Isaac Mather and Alice Fielding; her maternal grandparents were John Hamer and Mary (Mally) Bury. She had six brothers and four sisters, named James, John, Charles, Isaac, Andrew, Andrew, Ann, Nancy, Jane and Sarah. She was the youngest of the eleven children. She died at the age of 65 in May 1895 in Blackburn. Her burial was on June 5th, 1895.³⁴
