Sir Philip Champernowne 
Sir Philip was born about 1479.1 Sir Philip's father was Sir John Champernowne and his mother was Margaret Courtenay. His paternal grandparents were William Champernowne and Elizabeth Chidderleigh; his maternal grandparents were Sir Philip of Molland Courtenay and Elizabeth Hingeston. He was an only child. He died on August 2nd, 1545 in Modbury, Devonshire.1 General Notes
