John was born about 1371 in England.1 John's father was Sir William Bonville and his mother was Margaret Damarell. His paternal grandparents were Sir Nicholas Bonville and Johanna Champernowne; his maternal grandfather was William Damarell. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Richard, Thomas, William, Elizabeth and Katherine. He was the second youngest of the six children. He died on October 21st, 1396.1 General Notes
