Joan Champernowne 
Joan was born about 1514.1 Joan's father was Sir Philip Champernowne and her mother was Catherine Carew. Her paternal grandparents were Sir John Champernowne and Margaret Courtenay; her maternal grandparents were Sir Edmund Carew and Catherine Huddesfield. She had two brothers and three sisters, named John, Sir Arthur, Katherine, Elizabeth and Frances. She was the oldest of the six children.General Notes
